BTS ジェイホープ（J-HOPE）が2023.3.3、ソロシングル「on the street(with J. Cole)」を公開
今回のソロシングルで普段好きなアーティストであるラッパーでありプロデューサーのジェイコール(J. Cole)とコラボ。 ジェイホープが吐き出す肯定的な気運とジェイコールの老練でどっしりとしたラップが出会い、幻想的なコラボレーションが完成した。
- “as always, for us”…全世界のファンに渡すジェイホープの「ファンソング」
- 直接、作詞作曲に参加して曲に「自分だけの希望のメッセージと温もり」を吹き込んだ
- J. Coleの歌詞はJ. Cole自身が作詞した（期日に間に合わない可能性があり、コラボではないVersionも録音した）
- ロファイヒップホップ(lo-fi hiphop)ジャンルの聞きやすいメロディーと暖かい歌詞
- ジェイホープが直接録音した「口笛」がよく調和するイージーリスニング曲
- パフォーマンス(振り付け)とミュージックビデオ企画にも直接参加し、自分だけの独創的なカラーを着せた
「on the street(with J. Cole)」のミュージックビデオには自由に街を走り回りながら歌うジェイホープの姿が含まれている。 ジェイホープは狭い路地から大通りへ、地下鉄駅から屋上へ、色々な空間を行き来しながら出会いや別れ、愛など多様な感情の瞬間を通り過ぎる。 フィーチャリングに参加したジェイコールもミュージックビデオに登場し、ジェイホープと呼吸を合わせた。 2人は屋上で嬉しそうに挨拶を交わしながら「on the street(with J. Cole)」ミュージックビデオのエンディングを華やかに飾った

初めての出会い、夢、思い出など多様な状況が繰り広げられる「街の上」をこのソロシングルのモチーフにした。 多くの人が歩いて、息をして、感じる色々な感情が流れる「street」はジェイホープにも格別な意味を持つ空間であり概念だ。 彼は自身の出発であり、ルーツでもある「ストリートダンス(street dance)」を筆頭に、これまで熱心に走ってきた痕跡、また別の跳躍を夢見たインスピレーションの源泉、人生の教訓に至るまで「street」を通じて得た考えと感情を「on the street (with J. Cole)」に盛り込んだ。
